Very simple but very effective and it literally takes minutes to make at our chalets. Whilst food on the mountain can be expensive (especially in the Alps), this is a great way to skip queues and avoid relying on mountain food to keep that friend of yours from turning into a hangry dragon. Whilst the ski destinations Snomads operate in are a fraction of the price when compared to other European resorts, it’s still a great way to save money during your ski holiday. While you’re at it, fill up a reusable water bottle to save even more, there’s less waste and you get to drink clean and tasty water straight off the mountain.
What’s a holiday without a bottle of bubbly or a refreshing gin and tonic? Whilst passing through duty-free at the airport take advantage and pick up a couple of bottles, this way saving valuable time and money in resort. Alcohol in duty-free shops can be much cheaper than ordinary shops, so best stock up beforehand, also if your staying at one of our chalets then check out the handy alcohol upgrades on offer, Unlimited beer and wine during your stay with us from only £5 per day – what a bargain!
Town Shopping
Bit of a dull one but using a prepaid card enables you to keep track of spending through an app giving you real-time spending. These cards are also often free to use abroad helping you skip dodgy transaction or withdrawal fees. Getting geekier, monitor exchange rates before you travel and order your currency when the price is at its best. This ones simple….The winter resorts in the lesser known parts of Europe have great options for skiing and snowboarding, all for a fraction of the price of a ski holiday in the Alps. Not only do you save when booking a chalet holiday with us but you’ll soon start to feel the difference when in resort, beers start from the £2 mark around the mountain comapered to £9 in some French resorts. An entire sourdough pizza from around £12 at the top of the mountain in Bansko, sounds good to us!

Again, sounds like a simple one but buying your ski passes day by day can actually save you money. From our 10 years in the chalet game we often see guests craving a day or afternoon off. We recommend experiencing the spas of Bulgaria & Poland. Jump onboard one of our organised spa trips but make sure you don’t miss a paid day’s skiing when your relaxing in the healing, geothermal waters. It’s better to go day by day and save yourself some money.
This one might sound boring but it’s something that could save you money but more importantly save you or others from injury. We advise you check the validity of your EHIC/GHIC international health insurance card and also recommend buying private insurance in your country of origin that covers sports like skiing & snowboarding. You hear many horror stories of drunk skiers and snowboarders colliding, falling and generally being a menace to society. Save your first beer for the bottom of the mountain, this way you’ll be in total control and wont risk being “that person” in resort
