Things to Do in Zakopane, Poland
Zakopane is a historical town, and it has a history from way before it became a winter resort. It hold rich culture, as well as much to see and do. Here you’ll find a full list of the many things you can explore, but we’ll point out some highlights below.
Snow sports
Besides skiing, there’s an impressive variety of snow sports you can enjoy. These include ice skating on the local ski rinks and skidoo (snowmobile riding). Snowtubing is also an option at Stok Narciaski Gigant and Ski School Jerry.

Explore the town
One of Zakopane’s invaluable qualities is its unique architecture which encapsulates a rich cultural history. You can take multiple days to walk through the streets, enjoy the endemic wooden houses, shop and try the heart-warming local Highlander cuisine. Not to mention the crazy night life.

Kulig horse-sleigh ride
A remnant of old Highlander tradition is the classic horse sleigh ride, known as Kulig. You ride for an hour or two, to arrive at a set barbecue with unlimited food and beverage refills. This experience aims to replicate a manor-to-manor noble tradition from back in the day, where the goal was one – get drunk and fill your belly.

Prices are subject to change depending on the season. Our Zakopane ski packages include discounts and directions to local lessons, activities and equipment rental.
The Tatry Super Ski Pass covers most areas in both Zakopane and Slovakia, over 87 different lifts in total.
As well as the Tatry Super Ski Pass there are a few areas that have their own individual ski passes. On arrival the team will discuss with you plans for the week based on abilities in your group, weather conditions and how much skiing you want to do. Suitable ski passes can then quickly and easily be booked online from the comfort of the chalet, ready for collection the following day. Just another advantage to staying with Snomads to provide a hassle-free holiday.
A refundable 10zł is added to all pass prices for the hands-free electronic card.
*Pass issued when accompanied with an adult pass. The pass will have the same validity as the adult pass. Only one child pass per adult.

Fitting
On arrival, our team will get you fitted as soon as possible. For those arriving late at night, everything will be arranged first thing the following morning. Less time hanging around, more time on the mountain. During the week, if you have any queries, or fancy trying something more adventurous, our team will be happy to help.

We work with the best ski schools in Zakopane that always ensure an English-speaking instructor with 10+ years of experience. Private lessons start from £60 per person, and increase depending on how small the group is. Advanced skiing lessons are also available. This includes transport to school and ski equipment.
Travel – how to get to Zakopane
Getting to Zakopane is easy if you find a flight to Krakow or Katowice in Poland or Poprad in Slovakia. Then you can take a car, bus, or train to arrive in Zakopane. Although Zakopane is in the mountains, the roads are well maintained and logistics are fairly simple. Check out our guide for more details.
