Resort skiing used to be the only option for people searching for their yearly powder hit but it rarely fulfilled the want for the wilderness and calm of the mountains. Now we have a real alternative to skiing in France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy.

Your ski holiday doesn’t have to feel like a glitch in the matrix. Instead of going to the same old pistes, waiting at the same queues forming for the lifts, listening to the drunk seasonairs blaring out Mr Brightside, drinking 10 euro beers from plastic cups, you can have a ski holiday that you will never forget.

Snowcat Freeride - experience Winter Adventures

How does skiing in an area of over 150km sq of untouched lines on varied terrain every day, without waiting in a single queue sound? How is that possible? The answer is snowcat freeriding. 

Snowcat Freeriding in North Macedonia has recently grown in popularity and Snomads have been at the forefront from the start, we’ve been searching for our backcountry base for over 6 years. Our search was worth it as we discovered the perfect high mountain 4* hotel. The hotel has become our freeriding home where we feel comfortable alongside like minded riders in the deep North Macedonian mountains. 

Our snowcat operation is the most affordable in Europe and costs around the same as a chalet holiday in the Alps once you add in a lift pass,  here you get to play in an area of over 150km sq with wide open faces, steep couloirs, natural pipes and delicious pine forests. Daily fresh lines up to 850 vertical meters are the norm during your stay. 

For all our camps we require a good level of fitness & an intermediate/advanced level of skiing/snowboarding

All Weather Snowcat

Jump in the back of the snowcat and there’s a feeling that anything is possible. Whatever the weather, we’re going up!

Experienced Guides

All guides have a minimum of six years guiding experience and are avid freeriders. Two guides are always provided for each Snowcat group.

Safety Guaranteed

We provide you with all necessary safety equipment such as an avalanche transceiver beacon and ABS avalanche bag.

UK Snowboarder Tylor Chorlton joining us in the snowcat in January!

Tyler Chorlton is a 34 year old pro snowboarder, originally born in the UK. He grew up in France and ended up living in Andorra, it’s been the perfect base for him to travel the world as a professional snowboarder. Tyler has always been known for his supreme backcountry technique and more recently, this elbow carve.!!!

Snomads are proud to announce that our March Camp will be exclusively aimed at Women & is the first CAT assisted camp of it’s kind in Europe.

From experience some aspects of backcountry skiing & snowboarding are super male dominated. Our aim is to be at the forefront of inclusion within the freeride community  and to create a fun space to learn new techniques and master the art of freeriding. Daily wind down yoga and meditation will be the norm with tips from some of the best guides around.
