Zakopane is the best ski resort in Poland, for more than just its fresh powder and slopes. The town has a rich culture, an enormous amount of things to do, and a superb aesthetic that will make any winter escape an unforgettable one.

Getting to Zakopane is easy if you find a flight to Krakow or Katowice in Poland or Poprad in Slovakia. Then you can take a car, bus, or train to arrive in Zakopane. Here’s our guide for more details.

Ski touring season spans from January to April.
To go ski touring, you should be fairly confident on your skis and sport a good level of fitness and endurance. Keep in mind that skiing on wild snow is quite different than piste skiing. Also, a big portion of the tours will be spent hiking with your skis on.
