Fun facts about Kulig sleigh riding!

SHORT HISTORY

Kulig sleigh ride parties date back to the 16th century. Nobles would eat, drink, dance and sing, and then ride with torches to another manor and do the same. It’s called “Kulig z pochodniami” (sleigh ride with torches).

CULTURE

Horse sleigh rides are a celebration of Polish heritage, as well as a way to bring people together to share the joy of the beautiful winter scenery (zimowej scenerii) in a communal setting.

ECO-FRIENDLY

Unlike other winter adventures, Kulig rides are 100% environmentally-friendly, the only engine being horsepower, making it a sustainable way to enjoy the winter wonderland of Southern Poland.

TRADITIONS

Highlander drinking isn’t about quantity. It’s about learning the traditional toasts and the art of communal drinking. It’s no wonder why Poland’s traditions remain and thrive – small everyday rituals bring people together.
